Technology, does it really improve a student’s performance academically? This Article claims that technology does not help students, going as far to say it hinders the students’ performance. Technology is available on a global scale, and it helps us connect to the world around. Information is easier to access. The Article doesn’t claim that technology is not help or resourceful. This article inserts a quote from the OECD stating “Schools have yet to take advantage of the potential of technology in the classroom to tackle the digital divide and give every student the skills they need todays connected world”. The OECD Stated “Countries which have invested heavily in information and communication technologies for education have seen no noticeable improvement in their performance “.Ensuring that each child reaches a minimal level of proficiency in math , science, reading. This means this affects countries where the majority of the population is not proficient in these three areas. The Article also goes on to mention how “the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged students in the digital reading was very similar to the traditional reading test”. This will change the way computers are used in the classroom.
